I told him it was a good coffee, had a punch of orange in it. He said go on ahead, so I made the coffee and brought out the Kubrick movie to go with it. He frowned at the cover but I held him to it. “Go on,” I said. “Watch it with the missus.” I probably shouldn’t have told him the last part. Next day he comes in and he looks like he’s really torn. He hands me the movie and almost whispers, “You about got me laid out by Darlene, showing that picture to her.” Then he goes on, “You got any more like that?”

Anyway, since then he’s been taking home one, sometimes two titles a night. He’s about to break the world’s record for retirees having first time criterion collection experiences in one week.

A goth girl (a virgin) falls for an older man (owner of an upscale men’s store) and learns, as her love channels appropriately filial, that what she loves is life, not death. A Forest Gump ending — just with a paper airplane instead of a feather.

Actually, a fun movie. Some nice writing.
